Heavy metal band Mudvayne is headed to Northern Quest! Experience their powerful sound, theatrical flair, and dynamic stage presence this October.
Heavy metal band Mudvayne became popular playing in the underground music scene of their hometown, Peoria, Illinois, in the late ’90s. By the early 2000s, they had achieved worldwide critical and commercial success with a string of Gold-certified albums, plus the first-ever MTV2 Award for "Dig." The group is known for their experimentation and musical complexity, as well as their signature makeup, masks, uniforms, and unusual pseudonyms: Kud/Chüd (Chad Gray) (vocals), sPaG/Spüg (Matthew McDonough) (drums), Gurrg/Güüg (Greg Tribbett) (guitar), and Ryknow/Rü-D (Ryan Martinie) (bass).
Industrial metal band Static-X emerged at the end of the ’90s with their cult classic debut album, Wisconsin Death Trip. Frontman Wayne Static’s distinctive vocals defined the group’s success. However, his passing in 2014 effectively halted them in their tracks. In 2018, the original lineup—Tony Campos (bass), Koichi Fukuda (guitar), and Ken Jay (drums)—announced that they were reforming the band in Static’s honor, releasing two new albums with his previously recorded vocals and compositions. Since their return, the group has peaked in the Top 15 of the U.S. Dance/Electronic chart and embarked on a well-received tour with new masked frontman Xer0, who was revealed to be Edsel Dope of metal band Dope.
Nu-metal band Vended was formed in 2018 by Griffin Taylor and Simon Crahan, sons of Slipknot members Corey Taylor and Shawn "Clown" Crahan. They are joined by bassist Jeremiah Pugh and guitarists Cole Espeland and Connor Grodzicki. The group’s first live performance was in March 2020. After a brief hiatus due to COVID-19, Vended released their EP, What Is It/Kill It, in November 2021. Pushing the limits of combustible energy and raw aggression in every song and performance, the young band is determined to spark a new generation of heavy music.
