Join us for a celebration of Native American heritage at the Fourth Annual Northern Quest Dance Championships! Held in Pend Oreille Pavilion, this exciting event is open to the public and free to attend. Dancers representing various tribes will perform for their share of $22,000 in cash prizes!
This year’s competition will highlight Grass and Jingle dances. Grass dance is characterized by balanced, flowing movements with regalia made of yarn or ribbon to mimic waving grass. A traditional jingle dress is adorned with metal cones to create a distinctive sound as the dancer moves. Each of these dances holds deep cultural significance, often performed at powwows and other tribal ceremonies.
