The O'Jays / Cancelled

Known as The Sound of Philadelphia, The O'Jays set off on their musical journey in 1963 and continue to energize crowds with their electric dance moves and soulful voices to this day. Started by childhood friends and front men Walter Williams and Eddie Levert, the group hit the wavelengths with chart-topping hits such as “Love Train”, “Put Your Hands Together”, “For The Love of Money”, and “Darlin’ Darlin’ Baby (Sweet, Tender, Love)”. The group quickly jumped to stardom and became the first African American vocal group to tour the United States during the 70s and 80s, all while claiming 10 gold albums, 9 platinum albums and 10 #1 hits.

With a strong history of success to back them, The O’Jays were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2005, followed by The Official R&B Music Hall of Fame in 2013. The group was also recognized in 2009 with the BET Life Time Achievement Award. Eddie and Walter continue to lead this energetic group and welcomed Eric Nolan Grant to the trio in 1995. With the help of fans around the world, The O’Jays have remained a pop sensation for more than 50 years.
